Description of the Respective Department

Radiation Oncology is a unique medical speciality which is an integral part of the cancer management. Radiation therapy is used for the cure of cancer disease as well as for palliation in all spectrum of cancer cases. The department of Radiation oncology at AJ Cancer Institute has almost all the advanced treatment facilities with the state of art high end triple energy linear accelerator having both Photons and Electrons along with FFF Photon beam treatment. The department also has High Dose Rate Brachytherapy system. Department caters to regular teaching programs for MD Radiation oncology Post Graduate Students and BSc RT from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences; MSc Medical Physics from Mangaluru University. Regular cancer screening and awareness camps are conducted by the department.
