He trained under Dr. Dinesh Kadam, Professor & Head, Department of Plastic Surgery at AJ Hospital & Research Centre. With experience of over 3,200 surgeries, Dr. Marla has developed expertise across a wide range of reconstructive and aesthetic subspecialties, including trauma, microsurgery, craniofacial reconstruction and burns management.

Dr. Marla has undergone international aesthetic surgery fellowship training with a focus on body contouring, breast aesthetics and rhinoplasty. He is also fellowship-trained in Rib Remodeling (RIBOSS), an advanced body-contouring technique, having trained directly under Dr. Hugo Aguilar Villa, the surgeon who developed the RIBOSS technique.
