"VRIDDHI" 14 ELDERLY ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMME

The 14th Vriddhi Elderly Engagement Programme was successfully conducted on        18th December 2024. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from elderly members, internal committee members, and guests, making it a memorable experience for all.

Programme Highlights;

  1. Welcome and Information Sharing

The event commenced at 9:00 AM with a warm welcome to all participants. This was followed by:

  • Service Display by the CRO:
    • Distribution of the Geriatric Care Brochure.
    • Information on Sharada Yoga & Naturopathy OPD and daycare services.
    • A demo session on Vayah Vikas Registration.
  • A short video showcasing the essence of the Vriddhi Programme was played, highlighting its achievements and initiatives.
  1. Health Talk

A health talk on "Common Dental Problems in Seniors and How to Prevent Them" was delivered by Dr. Priyanka Shetty, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Oral Pathology, A J Institute of Dental Sciences. The session was informative, and an engaging Q&A session followed, allowing members to address their dental health concerns.

  1. Exercise and Informational Talk

An exercise session led by Sharada Naturopathy OPD staff rejuvenated the members, followed by a brief talk on "Parkinson's Disorder Management in Naturopathy."

  1. Awareness Session

Mr. Shankar Ranganathan, Head of Operations, Karnataka Chapter, Vayah Vikas, conducted an awareness session on:

  • Cyber Fraud prevention strategies for seniors.
  • Information on the Ayushman Bharat Vayo Vandana Card Scheme.
    The session received an enthusiastic response, with many members actively engaging in the discussion.
  1. Entertainment and Celebrations
  • December Birthday Celebrations: Birthday members were introduced to Santa Claus and joined the stage for a joyous cake-cutting ceremony.
  • Christmas Celebration:
    • Santa’s grand entrance, accompanied by carols and mingling with members.
    • A vibrant dance performance by students.
    • Carol singing and fun games that brought smiles to everyone’s faces.
  • Kuswar and Cake Distribution: Members contributed cakes and traditional Kuswar snacks, which were shared with everyone present.
  1. Health Checkups

Health checkups for the elderly continued from 12:00 PM onwards for those who missed the earlier sessions.

  1. Meeting with NGO/Association Heads

A meeting with NGO and association heads, including representatives from LIC and MCF, was conducted at 1:00 PM to discuss collaborative initiatives and the future direction of Vriddhi programmes.

  1. Visit to Abhaya Ashram

At 2:30 PM, a group of eight elderly members, along with the Vayah Vikas team, visited Abhaya Ashram. The visit was a heartwarming experience, allowing members to interact with the residents and contribute to the cause.
