“Vriddhi”- 6 Elderly Engagement Programme
Date & Venue: Wednesday, April 17, 2024, AJ Hospital & Research Centre.
The "Vriddhi" 6 Elderly Engagement Programme at AJ Hospital & Research Centre began at 9:00 AM, offering comprehensive health check-ups for our elderly members. The health assessments included checks on blood pressure (BP), sugar levels, (BMI), and nutritional evaluations. Additionally, physiotherapy assessments were conducted to ensure comprehensive care.
An informative health talk on “Eye Care in Elders & Eye Donation” was delivered by Dr. Christopher N. B. Mendonca, Head of the Department of Ophthalmology. This session included a detailed presentation followed by an engaging discussion with the participants.
Mrs. Samina Nayak, a respected member of the Vriddhi programme, presented a talk on “Alternate Remedies to Heal Common Problems,” sharing valuable insights into alternative medicine and therapies and demonstrated the Mudras. This session also concluded with a discussion, encouraging interaction and exchange of ideas among attendees.
The program continued with the celebration of April month birthdays, creating a warm atmosphere for all attendees. This was coupled with performances and entertainment by the elderly members, showcasing their talents and fostering a sense of community.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by the Master of Health Administration (MHA) students, expressing gratitude to all participants, speakers, and organizers for making the event a success.
